Daniel Taglia, MD
Dr. Taglia is a fellowship-trained specialist in glaucoma. He also specializes in cataract surgery and LASIK vision correction. He graduated with honors from the University of Notre Dame. Prior to attending medical school, he attended the University of Michigan Law School, and is a member of the Michigan State Bar. He then completed his medical training at the University of Michigan Medical School where he graduated near the top of class and was inducted in as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical school national honor society. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Illinois Medical School, and a glaucoma fellowship at the University of Wisconsin Medical School. He is a member of the American and Indiana Academies of Ophthalmology, and is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Along the way, he has published a number of articles in major research journals, including The Journal of Glaucoma, The Journal of Ophthalmology, and The Archives of Ophthalmology. He has also formally presented his research at the American Academy of Ophthalmology Annual Meeting. He has been an assistant clinical instructor of Ophthalmology at the University of Illinois ophthalmology residency program, and currently provides clinical instruction to medical students at the University of Indiana Medical School. He has been in practice since 1998 and has performed thousands of surgical procedures, including cataract surgery, glaucoma surgeries, lasik, plastic, and strabismus (lazy eye) surgeries.
